Like the pleasure lake the match lake has an island offering shelter for fish. There are 32 evenly spaced pegs available all with consistent depth. The lake holds a good head of hard fighting carp in the 1lb to 15lb range, barbel upto 8lb, with tench, crucian carp, bream, chub, silverfish, ide and a large head of F1's. This lake has the potential for net busting match weights.
Not to be missed is the fantastic barbel sport in the margins!
Our match record weight for this lake is 210lb 0oz, from peg 11 and was caught in September 2012.
This lake offers excellent fishing opportunities for beginners and experts alike with depths to 6ft. Stocked with carp to 26lbs, tench to 10lbs, golden tench, ghost carp, perch, roach, rudd, bream, chub, barbel, crucian carp, hybrids, orfe, ide and F1's. Good pleasure bags can be caught from all pegs with the option to fish tight in to the margins, fish 'match style' at pole length, or target the overhanging trees on the island which offer refuge for the more elusive 'doubles' and 'twenties'. All methods and baits will catch fish and truly spectacular sport can be had when the carp are surface feeding during the summer months.
A record weight of 186lb 6oz was caught on this lake during summer 2011.
